A Delhi court has announced charges against Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.The case pertains to the murder of two Sikhs in Raj Nagar, Delhi-- Sardar Jaswant Singh and Sardar Tarun Deep Singh.Advocate Harpreet Singh Hora informed that the court has announced charges under the offences of rioting, murder and dacoity under sections 147, 149, 148, 302, 308, 323, 395, 397, 427, 436, 440 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Sajjan Kumar.The case was registered as FIR 458/91 at Police Station Saraswati Vihar, Delhi where the eye-witness had claimed that the eye-witness has identified Sajjan Kumar when the eye-witness saw a photograph of him.He informed that the case was previously closed as untraced in 1994 and the SIT had opened it again.The court has heard arguments from both sides and now the matter is listed on December 16 for formal framing of charges.Additional Sessions Judge MK Nagpal while passing the order said, "This court is of the considered opinion

Senior advocate Vikas Singh, representing Kumar, contended before the bench his client is more than 70-years-old and suffering from diabetes and other diseases
1984 anti-Sikh riots convict Sajjan Kumar sought immediate interim bail claiming that he is seriously ill adding that his health was not improving.
The apex court ordered the setting up of a medical board to look into his health condition and sought a report from AIIMS within four weeks
The judgment was pronounced on the appeal challenging the Congress leader's acquittal
