Schneider Electric Infrastructure reported a on-year decline of 92.68 per cent in net profit to Rs 3.28 crore in March quarter, mainly due to higher expenses. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 44.84 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2023, the company said in a regulatory filing. Total expenses rose to Rs 436.43 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 369.01 crore in the same period a year ago. The net profit in fiscal 2023-24 rose to Rs 172.03 crore, from Rs 123.63 crore a year ago. Total income of the company in financial year 2023-24 rose to Rs 2,215.98 crore, from Rs 1,789.39 crore in 2022-23.

Schneider Electric will leverage its expertise in data center infrastructure and NVIDIA's advanced AI technologies to introduce the first publicly-available AI data center reference designs, according to a statement. These designs are set to redefine the benchmarks for AI deployment and operation within data center ecosystems, the statement said. Schneider Electric Infrastructure will seek shareholders' approval to raise its total borrowing limit to Rs 900 crore from the existing Rs 550 crore through postal ballots. The e-voting for postal ballot will start at 9 am on Thursday and end at 5 pm on Friday, as per a BSE filing. The filing explained that the members, vide a special resolution passed through postal ballot on June 21, 2020, approved and authorised the board with the total borrowing limits up to Rs 550 crore. With an objective to have a scope for restructuring the financing avenues between external banks and intercompany loans with a headroom for future requirements to support business operations and working capital, the approval to increase borrowing limits is sought from the shareholders, it said. Schneider Electric Infrastructure on Wednesday posted a 32 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 34.92 crore in the June quarter primarily on the back of higher revenues. The company had registered a net profit of Rs 26.52 crore in the year-ago quarter, it said in a BSE filing. The total income of the company rose to Rs 497.57 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 371.98 crore a year ago. The Board of Directors in their meeting on Wednesday approved the appointment of Suparna Banerjee Bhattacharyya as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and key managerial personnel of the company with immediate effect. Before joining Schneider Electric, she was associated with Horiba India Pvt Ltd as the CFO and head of operations. Bhattacharyya has also worked with Gap International Sourcing (India) Pvt Ltd, Schlumberger, and Bata India. She has 25 years of experience and has managed India and SAARC regions in her previous roles, Schneider said.
Auto components maker Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd on Monday said it will acquire assets and shares of Germany's Dr Schneider Group entities at an overall enterprise value of about 118.3 million euros (over Rs 1,070 crore). The company through its wholly-owned arm Samvardhana Motherson Automotive Systems Group BV (SMRPBV) has entered into an agreement to acquire assets and shares of the Dr Schneider Group entities from the insolvency administrator, Dr Joachim Exner, the company said in a regulatory filing. Dr Schneider Group is a manufacturer of high-end, innovative, and integrated electronic interior polymer components and systems such as smart surfaces and lighting modules. It is a technology leader in air-vents, decorative interior polymer components with illumination and has a strong presence in premium vehicles. Schneider Electric Infrastructure (SEIL) Ltd on Tuesday posted a multi-fold jump in its net profit to Rs 44.8 crore during the January-March quarter, boosted by higher income. It had clocked a net profit of Rs 7 lakh during the January-March quarter of the preceding 2021-22 fiscal, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company's total income rose to Rs 414.4 crore in the reported quarter from Rs 343.1 crore in the year-ago quarter. Expenses were at Rs 369 crore as against Rs 340.4 crore a year ago. SEIL manufactures a wide range of products that includes transformers, power transformers, switchgears, medium voltage switchgears among others. It has four manufacturing facilities -- two in Vadodara, and one each in Kolkata and Chennai.
