Electric bike maker BNC Motors on Monday said it plans to expand its dealership network to over 300 outlets this year. It also said that around 90 of these outlets will be set up in north India, mainly across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. The company further said that it plans to launch two more products this year, including a scooter and a bike. The electric bike maker currently has 10 dealerships. As part of the plans for accelerating national growth with a strategic expansion, BNC Motors plans to add over 300 dealerships in its networks in India by this year, the company said. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Monday said it has commissioned a third assembly line at its Vithalapur (Gujarat)-based manufacturing plant. The third line will add an additional production capacity of 6.5 lakh scooter units, taking the total capacity of the facility to 19.7 lakh units per annum. "To serve customers more efficiently with speed, undertaking this capacity expansion plan will increase HMSI's total annual production volumes significantly," HMSI President, Managing Director & CEO Tsutsumu Otani said in a statement. TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 25 per cent rise in total dispatches at 3,01,898 units in December 2023. The company had sold a total of 2,42,012 units in December 2022, TVS Motor Company said in a statement. Two-wheelers sales were at 2,90,064 units in December 2023 as compared to 2,27,666 units in the same month last year, up 27 per cent, it added. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 33 per cent at 2,14,988 units in December 2023 as against 1,61,369 units in December 2022. Motorcycle sales rose by 19 per cent to 1,48,049 units last month as compared to 1,24,705 units in December 2022, while scooter clocked sales of 1,03,167 units as against 76,766 units in the year-ago month, a growth of 34 per cent. HOP Electric is targeting up to three-fold rise in its annual sales in 2024 and is preparing to launch an electric motorcycle equivalent to the mass market entry level bikes of conventional engines to shore up volumes, according to company Founder & CTO Rahil Gupta. The company, which has two electric scooters and an electric bike in its portfolio, is also looking to raise around USD 25 million next year to fund production capacity expansion. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India on Thursday launched its new Dio 125 scooter with price starting at Rs 83,400. Earlier, the Dio was available with a 110cc engine. The company has now introduced a new version with a 125cc engine boosted by eSP (enhanced smart power) feature. The Dio 125 comes with features such as idling stop system, side stand indicator with engine inhibitor, multi-function switch for unlocking seat and opening external fuel lid, telescopic suspension with high 171 mm ground clearance, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) said in a statement.
