Oppn coming together as they can't fight against Modi alone: MP CM Chouhan

Opposition parties are coming together as they cannot fight the electoral battle against "superhuman" Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone and are unable to match the work he has done on the ground, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Saturday. Speaking to PTI on the sidelines of an event of his government's flagship 'Ladli Behna' scheme here, the CM also said the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) will win over 200 seats in the forthcoming assembly polls. The state has 230 assembly seats and elections are to be held later this year. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the most popular leaders in the world. Wherever he goes, people greet him with love and pride (unki jai jai hoti hai). You have seen this in the US." "The opposition parties cannot match his development and welfare initiatives and the work he does on the ground," Chouhan said. "People wonder how can one person be so complete and hence I say Modiji is a superhuman." Chouhan said the country and the

In 18 yrs, 22k announcements of CM Chouhan remain unfulfilled, claims Nath

Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kamal Nath on Friday said 22,000 announcements of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the last 18 years remain unfulfilled and alleged corruption had hollowed out the state. Speaking to reporters, Nath said Chouhan was making announcement at double speed ahead of Assembly polls, likely to be held at the end of the year. Chouhan has been chief minister of the state since November 2005, except for a brief period between December 2018 and March 2020. "Probably, he (Chouhan) is thinking that by making announcements, all his sins will be washed away. Corruption, like termites, has eaten up the state. They (Bharatiya Janata Party government) have made the state hollow in all spheres, be it education, health, employment, law and order," Nath alleged. MP has a debt of Rs 3.30 lakh crore and the state government was now forced to borrow just to pay interest. The borrowings are not used for development, but to award contracts and obtaining commission on

MP 'Ladli Behna' scheme: CM gives sanction letters to four women in Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday distributed sanction letters in Bhopal's Duganagar slum area to beneficiaries of his government's flagship 'Ladli Behna' scheme. Under the scheme, eligible women beneficiaries will get Rs 1000 per month in their bank accounts from June 10th onwards, with Chouhan saying sanction letters were given at their doorstep during the day to avoid inconvenience to them of visiting government offices. An official said the CM reached the homes of four women, identified as Sheetal Mahavar, Sushma Raikwar, Sunita Lovanshi and Ummedi Bai, and gave the sanction letters. Hailing the scheme as one that empowers women, the CM said it will enhance their confidence and fulfil their dreams. Lovanshi said she will spend the money on the studies of her daughter. Chouhan also directed officials to provide adequate treatment to the family members of Ummedi Bai. More than 1.25 crore women have enrolled for the Ladli Behna scheme. Incidentally

The Kerala Story' made tax-free in Madhya Pradesh: CM Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday announced to give tax-free status to 'The Kerala Story' in the state, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi credited the movie for bringing out terror conspiracies and used it to attack the Congress during a rally in Karnataka. We have already made a law against religious conversion in Madhya Pradesh. Since this film creates awareness, everyone should watch this film. Parents, children and daughters should watch it. That's why the Madhya Pradesh government is giving tax-free status to the movie The Kerala Story', Chouhan said. The CM said that the film exposes the conspiracies of love jihad', religious conversion and terrorism and its hideous face. MP CM Chouhan bats for pre-litigation mediation model to settle disputes

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday urged the chief justice of the MP High Court to prepare a model of pre-litigation mediation to settle disputes. He was addressing a function to lay the foundation stone of the new building of Advocate General Office. The model of pre-litigation mediation should be sent to his government so that it can be implemented in the state, Chouhan said. The provision of 'Shanti Nivaran Samiti' in Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas (PESA) Act has helped settle petty disputes among tribals within the village without the need to approach police, the CM pointed out. "After the success of Shanti Nivaran Samiti, the government wants similar nature of committee for villages outside tribal areas for which a legal framework needs to be worked out," he said. Chouhan said the construction of the annexe building of the High Court's principal seat in Jabalpur was required to meet the need for expansion of offices and this is under consideration. Supre
