A subsidiary of state-owned power producer SJVN, SJVN Green Energy, has entered into a long term pact to supply 600 MW solar electricity to Rajasthan. The Power Usage Agreement is for 500 MW Solar Power from Bikaner Solar Power Project and the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is for 100 MW Solar Power from Rajasthan Solar Power Project, both for a period of 25 years, a power ministry statement said. According to the statement SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, has signed a Long Term Power Usage Agreement (PUA) for 500 MW Solar Power and a Long Term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 100 MW Solar Power, with Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited (RUVITL) in Jaipur on March 10, 2024. State-owned power producer SJVN arm SJVN Green Energy has secured 1,352 MW solar power projects, entailing an investment of Rs 7,436 crore. "SJVN has received Letter of Awards (LoA) for 1,352 MW Solar Power Projects to be developed through SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN," a company statement said. According to the statement, these LoAs have been received in the presence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, SJVN Director (Finance) Akhileshwar Singh and SGEL CEO Ajay Singh in Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stones of seven SJVN projects worth Rs 5,515 crore. The projects are located in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Assam, according to a statement. The Prime Minister virtually dedicated four power stations, namely 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Power Station in Uttarakhand, 75 MW Parasan Solar Power Station, 75 MW Gurhah Solar Power Station and 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh from Adilabad in Telangana, the statement said. He also laid the foundation stones of SJVN's projects -- 382 MW Sunni Dam Hydro Electric Project, 15 MW Nangal Floating Solar Power Project in Himachal Pradesh and 70 MW solar project in Assam. These hydro and solar power projects will contribute to the nation's goal of achieving a net zero carbon emission economy by 2070, it added.

State-owned SJVN on Tuesday announced the commissioning of 100 MW Raghanesda solar power project located at Banaskantha district in Gujarat. The project, bagged at a tariff of Rs 2.64 per unit, has been commissioned through its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), SJVN said in a regulatory filing. The "Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been signed with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 25 years. The cost of construction/development of this project is Rs 642 crore. The project will generate 252.3 million units (MUs) in the first year," it said. The project is expected to generate 5,805 MU of solar power over a period of 25 years.
Hartek Power on Tuesday said it has bagged an order of Rs 113 crore from state-owned SJVN in Jamui, Bihar. The project entails developing, implementing, and maintaining a 75 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV power plant, along with a 132 kV sub-station, Hartek Power said in a statement. The scope of work also includes land development, design, engineering, equipment procurement, testing at the manufacturer's works, packing, forwarding, and transportation, the company said. State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday said it has bagged a 100 MW solar project under an e-reverse auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). SJVN bagged the 100 MW solar project at the rate of Rs 2.54/unit on a build-own and operate basis through a tariff-based competitive bidding process of GUVNL Phase XXI, a company statement said. According to the statement, SJVN has secured the full quoted capacity of a 100 MW solar power project through e-Reverse Auction conducted by GUVNL. The first unit of SJVN's 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project (NMHEP) in Uttarakhand has started commercial operations. The first unit of 30 MW capacity achieved the Commercial Operation Date (COD) today, the company's CMD Nand Lal Sharma said in a statement on Friday. "The unit has at 60 MW project achieved this COD after going through rigorous testing and successful synchronization with the national grid. With this achievement, the company has now furthered its total generation capacity to 2,122 MW from 2,091.50 MW," he said. It is a run of the river project located on river Tons, a major tributary of river Yamuna in Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand with two generating units of 30 MW each. The second unit of the project is also expected to be commissioned within this month. The project will generate 265.5 million units of electricity annually and the power will be evacuated through the 37 kilometres-long 220 KV Transmission Line from Bainol to Snail, constructed by SJVN .
State-owned power producer SJVN Ltd on Thursday said it has signed a pact with Solar Energy Corporation of India to supply 200 MW of wind power. The power producer has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 200 MW grid-connected wind power project with Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), SJVN Chairman & Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma said in a statement. Sharma informed that SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) -- its wholly-owned subsidiary -- had participated in the tariff-based competitive bidding process conducted by SECI for the selection of wind power developers for setting up 1,200 MW grid-connected wind power projects anywhere in India. SGEL bagged 200 mw at a tariff of Rs 3.24 per unit on a build-own and operate (BOO) basis in an open competitive tariff bidding process. He further said the 200 MW wind project will be developed by SGEL anywhere in India through an EPC contract. With the allotment of this project, the wind portfolio of SJVN now stands at 497.6 .
SJVN Ltd on Friday said the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) has given its approval to the company's detailed project reports (DPRs) for two hydro projects worth around Rs 40,000 crore. While the Etalin hydroelectric power (HEP) is of 3,097 MW, the Attunli HEP is of 680 MW, SJVN said in a statement. "Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power has transferred concurrences of DPRs of 3,097 MW Etalin HEP & 680 MW Attunli HEP in favour of the Company. CEA has also extended the validity of said concurrences," the company said. The project cost of Etalin HEP at March 2022 price level is Rs 32,813 crore and for Attunli HEP it is Rs 6,866 crore. The 3,097 MW Etalin HEP is the largest hydro project under development in the country. A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the company and Arunachal Pradesh government for executing these five hydro power projects in August 2023. State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday reported a marginal decline in its consolidated net profit to Rs 439.64 crore. Its consolidated net profit was Rs 445.44 crore in the quarter ended on September 30, 2022, according to a regulatory filing. Total expenses in the quarter rose to Rs 398.22 crore from Rs 387.75 crore in the year-ago period. Total income also increased to Rs 951.62 crore in the September quarter over Rs 916.25 crore a year ago.
Discoms Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Ltd (JKPCL) and Rajasthan Urja Vidyut Nigam Limited (RUVNL) have agreed to purchase power from energy producer SJVN Ltd. "JKPCL and RUVNL have given their consent for purchase of 600 MW and 500 MW power, respectively, against a capacity of 1,000 MW at a tariff of Rs 2.57/kWh," SJVN said in a regulatory filing on Thursday. SJVN Ltd has also offered power to the beneficiaries of the northern region from 1,000 MW solar PV station to be developed under CPSU scheme of the central government in Poogal tehsil of Bikaner district in Rajasthan, it said. The power generated by the project will be used by government entities, either directly or through discoms (distribution companies). State-owned power producers SJVN Ltd on Wednesday said it has inked an initial pact with Power Finance Corporation (PFC) to get finance for its projects worth Rs 1.18 lakh crore. "PFC and the company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for financial assistance to various diversified portfolio of projects, including majorly Renewable Energy projects and thermal generation projects to be set up at a total project cost of about Rs 1,18,826 crore," a BSE filing said. The term loan financial assistance is tentatively proposed at 70 per cent of the project cost, which may be increased for renewable energy projects as per project requirements, it stated.
