CBI lodges FIR against Siemens Gamesa, 3 retired officials of SJVN

The CBI has booked Chennai-based Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power and three retired officials of SJVN, among others, for allegedly causing a Rs 191-crore loss to the PSU because of irregularities in the installation of its wind power plant in Ahmednagar, officials said on Wednesday. The agency has booked three retired senior officers -- RK Agarwal (executive director), Sanjay Uppal (chief general manager) and AK Jindal (deputy general manager) -- of SJVN Limited (earlier known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam), besides Power Energy Consultants representatives Vineet Sharma and CM Jain and Chennai-based Gamesa Wind Turbines Private Limited (now known as Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power Private Limited), they said. Queries seeking a reaction from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Power remained unanswered. SJVNL aims to become 50,000 MW capacity company by 2040, says CMD

SJVNL, a joint venture of the Centre and Himachal Pradesh government, aims to become a 50,000 MW capacity company by 2040 and add installed capacity of 10,000 MW during next three years, a senior company official said here on Saturday. Addressing a press conference, SJVNL Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma said the company has made rapid strides in the past 35 years and not only made foray into wind and solar energy, but also got projects in other states and foreign countries, including Nepal and Bhutan. The company earned highest-ever revenue of Rs 3,299 crore in 2022-23, which is 25.6 per cent more than the revenue of Rs 2,626 crore in 2021-22, Sharma said. Further, he said the company declared a dividend of Rs 1.77 per share for 2022-23 and paid a dividend of Rs 6,600 crore to the central government and Rs 1,050 crore to the Himachal Pradesh government and per share value of the company has increased from Rs 32.65 in September 2021 to Rs 73.15 in September 2023. SJVN unit, Assam discom to form JV to set up 1kMW floating solar projects

State-owned SJVN on Monday said its arm SJVN Green Energy and Assam's power distribution company APDCL have inked a pact to form a joint venture to set up 1,000 MW floating solar projects worth Rs 6,000 crore in Assam. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, informed in a statement that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between SJVN's wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) and APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd) in Guwahati. According to the statement, the MoU has been inked for developing 1,000 MW floating solar power projects in Assam by incorporating a joint venture company in the presence of the state chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The MoU was signed by Sharma and APDCL managing director Rakesh Kumar. Sharma said that the project will generate 2,192 million units in the first year after commissioning, and around 50,425 million units cumulative energy will be generated over 25 years. SJVN to set up hydel 490 MW Arun-4 power project worth Rs 4,900 cr in Nepal

State-owned SJVN Ltd will develop another hydro power project Arun-4 worth Rs 4,900 crore in Nepal. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of the 490 MW Arun-4 hydro electric project in Nepal has been signed in Lumbini, Nepal in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba, the company said in a statement on Monday. SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma said it will be the third mega project to be constructed by the company in Nepal. The construction of 900 MW Arun-3 project is in progress and the 669 MW Lower Arun project is at the survey and investigation stage. With the MoU, signed by Sharma and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising, SJVN has three projects with a total capacity of 2,059 MW in Nepal.
