'Centre keen on recruit-train-deploy model for skilling scheme PMKVY 4.0'

Inviting training partners and India Inc to collaborate with the government on the Prime Minister's Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0, a top official on Wednesday said the Centre is keen on having a Recruit-Train-Deploy model for its flagship skilling scheme. Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Atul Kumar Tiwari also called upon the industry to assist in designing some courses. "We would also like the training partners and industries to come together and work with us on the Prime Minister's Kaushal Vikas Yojana 4.0 in which we would like to have the RTD model. We would like industries also to come forward and help us in terms of designing some courses for them and funding some part of that so that they can skill people for their workforce," Tiwari said. ServiceNow ties up with FutureSkills Prime for digital skills training

Digital workflow company ServiceNow India on Thursday said it has entered into a partnership with FutureSkills Prime, a MeitY Nasscom digital skilling initiative, to train 5,000 people from across the country in new digital skills. The partnership aims to build careers across ServiceNow's fast-growing network with a global focus to skill one million people by the end of 2024, ServiceNow said in a statement. This initiative furthers the government's efforts to develop India as a global talent hub and will launch with two entry-level on-demand ServiceNow courses for all learners free of cost. "We are pleased to collaborate with ServiceNow as their vision fits into FutureSkills Prime vision of transforming India into a digital global talent hub. This collaboration brings two of their industry relevant courses to 1.3 million FutureSkills Prime learners," SSC Nasscom CEO Kirti Seth said.

OYO to facilitate skill training for youths at its vacation home biz abroad

Hospitality tech platform OYO on Wednesday said it will facilitate on-the-job training across its vacation home business in countries such as Denmark to selected youth from Haryana in conjunction with Vishwakarma Skills University. OYO signed a memorandum of agreement (MoU) with Vishwakarma Skill University, Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL) and the Foreign Cooperation Department of Haryana government, the company stated. "By facilitating partnerships between educational institutions, government agencies, and private sector companies like OYO, the state government is actively working to enhance its young population's employability and skill sets. Edu min aims to provide skill training to 50% school students by 2030

The Ministry of Education aims to ensure that at least 50 per cent of school students get training in various skills by 2030 and G20 deliberations will help prepare a framework for formalising skilling in mainstream education, an official said on Friday. According to School Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar, deliberations at the third G20 Education Working Group meeting focused on formalising skill education in schooling system, foundation literacy and numeracy, tech-enabled learning, future of work and research collaborations. The meeting concluded here on Friday. "We aim that by 2030, at least 50 per cent of school students will be receiving skill education. During the meetings we deliberated how skilling can be formalised in school education. The new education policy also recommended that skill education be introduced in schools from class 6," Kumar told a press conference.
