Gensol Engineering Ltd Q4 results: Net profit jumps three-fold to 20 cr

Gensol Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a nearly three-fold jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 20 crore during the March 2024 quarter, on account of higher revenue. It had posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 7 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company's total revenue also rose to Rs 412 crore in the January-March period as against Rs 167 crore a year ago. As of March 2024, the company said it had an order book of Rs 1,783 crore, of which Rs 1,448 crore worth of orders are from the solar segment. "We continue to take strategic bets like Scorpius Trackers's acquisition, Middle East entry, BESS (battery energy storage system) and we continue to expand into segments such as EV leasing and EV manufacturing," Anmol Singh Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, said. The company is a part of the Gensol group of companies which offers EPC services for the development of solar power plants.

PM to lay foundation stone of NLC's 300 MW solar plant in Rajasthan today

L&T's construction arm bags order to set up solar power plant in Dubai

Larsen and Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday said it has bagged a project to set up a solar power plant in Dubai. The order has been bagged by the renewable engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) arm of L&T's power transmission and distribution business. The project involves setting up a "solar photovoltaic plant in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates," the company said in a filing to BSE. "We are committed to bringing in our innovative renewable energy solutions and project management expertise to speed up energy transition in the region which is pursuing economic development combined with sustainable practices," T Madhava Das, Whole-Time Director and Senior Executive Vice President (Utilities), L&T said. L&T is a USD 23 billion Indian multinational engaged in EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services.

SJVN Green collaborates with Ocean Sun for new tech in green, clean energy

State-owned SJVN Ltd on Friday said its green energy arm has inked an initial pact with Norwegian firm Ocean Sun for a membrane-based floating solar pilot project in India. "Under the aegis of India-Norway Task Force for Energy, SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited today inked an MoU with Ocean Sun, Norway for collaboration in the field of new technologies in green and clean energy sector," a BSE filing said. As per the MoU, SGEL shall develop and finance a pilot membrane-based floating solar project (about 2 MW) at a suitable location in India. For this project, patented technological support shall be provided by Ocean Sun. This MoU shall pave way for technology transfer and cooperation amongst the two countries, it added. Once this pilot project succeeds, the two companies can look forward for expanding this technology on a large scale along the vast coast line in the southern part of India. India, Sri Lanka to jointly build solar power plant in island nation

India and Sri Lanka have agreed to jointly build in two stages a 135-megawatt solar power plant in the island nation's eastern port district of Trincomalee to promote renewable energy. Sri Lankan Cabinet has given approval for the project as the country aims to generate 70 per cent of its electricity requirement by 2030 from renewable energy sources. "The National Thermal Power Corporation of India and the Ceylon Electricity Board have entered into an agreement to jointly implement a solar power project in two stages," said a note from the Cabinet meeting held this week. "As the first stage of this project, it is expected to implement a solar power project of 50 megawatts with a total estimated investment of USD 42.5 million and to construct a 220 kilowatts transmission line with 40-km length from Sampoor to Kappalthure spending USD 23.6 million, it said.
