Tata Power Delhi Distribution on Tuesday said it has inked an initial pact with India Smart Grid Forum for the 'Vehicle-to-Grid Technology Demonstration Project'. The initiative aims to explore the potential of EVs to provide essential grid services like frequency and voltage support, test their viability as backup power sources during outages, and examine the impact of bi-directional charging, a company statement said. The pilot project aims to showcase the basics of how electric vehicles (EVs) can interact with the grid. Tata Power plans 66% higher capex at Rs 20k cr in FY25; to spend 50% on RE

Tata Power has planned a 66 per cent higher capital expenditure of Rs 20,000 crore in this fiscal compared to a year ago, which will mainly focus on projects supporting energy transition and India's net-zero emission target by 2070. During the year ended March 2024, the capex (capital expenditure) was around Rs 12,000 crore, the company's CEO Praveer Sinha said during a post earnings conference call. "This year we are targeting to spend around Rs 20,000 crore," he said in reply to a question on company's planned capex. Sharing the breakup of the investment plant, Sinha said about 50 per cent will be on renewables (projects). The remaining will be mix of transmission, distribution and conventional projects. The company will fund the capex through internal accruals and some debt, Sinha said. Tata Power Q4 results: PAT up 11% at Rs 1,046 crore on higher revenues

Tata Power on Wednesday posted an 11 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 1,046 crore in the March quarter compared to the year-ago period mainly on the back of higher revenues. The consolidated profit stood at Rs 939 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2023, a BSE filing showed. Total income of the company rose to Rs 16.463.94 crore in the quarter from Rs 13,325.30 crore in the same period a year ago. The consolidated net profit in the fiscal year 2023-24 rose to a record Rs 4,280 crore from Rs 3,810 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement. Total income increased to Rs 63,272.32 crore in FY24 from Rs 56,547.10 crore in 2022-23. According to the statement the company's market capitalisation has surpassed Rs 1.4 lakh crore.. Tata Power Renewable signs pact with SJVN for 460 MW clean energy project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) on Saturday said it has signed an agreement with state-owned SJVN Ltd to set up a 460 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project. An FDRE plant enables round-the-clock power supply, assisting power distribution companies (discoms) in fulfilling their Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPOs) and Energy Storage Obligations (ESOs). "The plant, designed to meet the 460 MW FDRE requirement, integrates solar, wind, and battery storage technologies to ensure efficient energy dispatch during peak hours, thereby stabilizing the grid," it said. The plant is expected to generate nearly 3,000 million units (MUs) of power and offset 2,200 million kgs of CO2 emissions annually, TPREL said in a statement. "This partnership with SJVN Ltd will witness the deployment of sustainable energy solutions from TPREL. Tata Power Renewable Energy commissions 200 MW solar project in Rajasthan

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd on Monday said it has commissioned a 200 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The project is expected to generate around 485 million units of green energy annually offsetting over 3,88,000 tonnes of carbon footprints, Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) said in a statement. Subsidiary TP Saurya Ltd (TPSL) has commissioned a 200 MW solar project located in Bikaner, Rajasthan, for Tata Power Trading Company Ltd (TPTCL). The project will be integrated into the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) Bus, ensuring efficient distribution of clean energy across the region, it said. TPSSL commissions 100 solar project with 120 MWh battery storage capacity

Tata Power Solar Systems (TPSSL) on Tuesday said it has commissioned 100 MW solar PV project, coupled with 120 MWh utility scale battery energy storage systems (BESS), at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. TPSSL bagged the Rs 945-crore project on EPC (engineering procurement construction) basis from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) in December 2021, a statement said. The order scope included engineering, design, supply, construction, erection, testing, O&M, and commissioning of the projects.
