Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd on Monday said it has received a patent for self-regenerating transformer breather for 20 years. The 'Self-Regenerating Breather' is a device protecting a transformer from moisture ingress and thus, increases the longevity of electric transformers, the company said in a statement. According to the statement, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL), a leading power utility supplying electricity to over 2 million customers in North Delhi, has been granted the patent for its unique self-regenerating transformer breather for a term of 20 years. The patented technology is also expected to reduce the maintenance man-days for replacement of Silica gel in a transformer's breather to protect it from moisture damage, the statement said. EPC firm Tata Projects on Thursday reported a profit after tax of Rs 120.57 crore for the quarter ended March 31 on the back of higher revenues. The company had posted a loss of Rs 366.42 crore in the year-ago period, Tata Projects said in a statement. These figures are after after exceptional and/or extraordinary items. The company's revenue from operations increased to Rs 5,412.80 crore during the March quarter, over Rs 5,015.21 crore in the year-ago period, the statement said. Two big semiconductor proposals are under process and expected to take shape in the coming few months, Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Saturday. Without divulging specifics of the proposals, the minister said the projects will focus on a special area where India can emerge as a leader at the global level. While speaking with PTI on the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony of Micron's semiconductor plant, Vaishnaw said that the global semiconductor company is noticing the progress made by India in the segment and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's capability to execute large and complex policy decisions. "This has developed India as a major trusted geography in which global industry players want to come. We can see in the coming few months at least two more large semiconductor proposals taking shape," Vaishnaw said. TATA group's Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which owns the luxury hotel brand 'Taj', will operate Cochin International Airport Limited's (CIAL) five-star hotel at the airport premises with an estimated investment of Rs 100 crore, a release said here on Thursday. CIAL constructed the hotel, which is ideally located near the airport entrance, as part of its land utilisation programme and also to provide the passengers with hospitality services at par with international standards. Taj CIAL at Cochin Airport is expected to be launched by middle of 2024. The airport said it has awarded the contract to IHCL with Rs 100 crore expected to be invested by the company for standardisation of its interiors in accordance with the Tata brand's grade.
