Cyient invests in rail cybersecurity company Cylus

IT company Cyient Thursday said it has invested in Israel-based Cylus, which provides cybersecurity solutions for the rail industry. "This investment is in line with the company's focus on developing smarter and safer mobility solutions for the rail industry. It brings together Cyient's leadership position in engineering solutions for rail and focus on digitalisation, with Cylus' cybersecurity solutions developed specifically for the rail industry," Cyient said in a statement. The company, however, did not disclose the size of the investment. The move enables Cyient and Cylus to expand their industry-specific cybersecurity value proposition, jointly address market needs, and accelerate development of cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions for the rail industry, it added. HMD Global targets sub-Rs10K smartphone buyers with Nokia 2.2

Finnish firm HMD Global Thursday unveiled its 4G handset Nokia 2.2 in the country with an eye on the high-volume sub-Rs 10,000 smartphone category. The company claims Nokia 2.2 is the cheapest smartphone in this category built on the Android One operating system. "We have launched Nokia 2.2 at a price point where 30 per cent consumers tend to buy smartphones. We did a consumer study and found that people are looking at reliable phones in this segment that they don't want to replace too often. We believe it will make big difference at this price point, said Ajey Mehta, Vice President and Country Head - India, HMD Global. China grants commercial licences to 4 telecom companies to launch 5G services amid tensions with US

China Thursday granted commercial licences to four state-owned telecom giants to start rolling out 5G services, signalling Beijing's determination to be the global leader in setting up superfast wireless networks amid tensions with the US over technology and trade.
