Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday arrived in the national capital and is likely to tender his resignation from Lok Sabha. Official sources said Reddy is likely to meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to offer his resignation. He represents the Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency in Telangana. The sources said Reddy is also likely to meet party general secretary K C Venugopal and discuss issues ahead of the first assembly session in Telangana besides implementation of six guarantees promised by the party during the poll campaign. Reddy was sworn in as chief minister of Telangana on Thursday along with a deputy chief minister and other ministers. His swearing in was attended by top Congress leadership including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chiefs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, besides chief minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah.
According to the sources, BRS chief KCR was injured and admitted to Yasodha Hospital. He fell at his farmhouse in Erravalli on Thursday night. He was shifted to Yashoda Hospital

Telangana PCC President A Revanth Reddy who is set to take over the reins of the state from Thursday will have a daunting task of making the bleak coffers ring to be able to fulfill the six guarantees that the Congress party gave during the run up to the recently concluded assembly polls. Telangana registered 15,297 cybercrime cases in 2022, the highest in the country, according to the latest NCRB data. Cybercrime in the state has been on an upward trajectory, with 5,024 cases in 2020 and 10,303 in 2021, according to an analysis of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data. The data showed that among the 28 states, Telangana logged the highest number of cybercrime cases, followed by Karnataka with 12,556 and Uttar Pradesh with 10,117 in 2022. The 28 states recorded a cumulative 64,907 cybercrime cases last year. The rate of total cybercrime cases per lakh population in Telangana stood at 40.3 while the percentage of cases for which a charge sheet was filed was 17.1, according to the data. There were 624 cases of ATM frauds, 3,223 online banking frauds, 2,179 OTP frauds, 4,467 cheating frauds, 280 cyber stalking and 234 cyber blackmailing/threatening. The motive in 10,991 cases was fraud followed by extortion with 447, the data revealed.

A bill to establish a central tribal university in Telangana was introduced in the Lok Sabha on Monday by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. According to the statement and objects of the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023 establishment of "Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University" will cater to the regional aspirations for years to come. The proposed institution, it said, will increase access and quality of higher education and facilitate and promote higher education and research facilities for the people of Telangana. It will also promote advanced knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in tribal art, culture and customs and advancement in technology to the tribal population of India. "Apart from bringing focus to tribal education, the central tribal university shall carry out all educational and other activities like any other central university," it read. The newly-elected Telangana Congress MLAs will meet here on Monday and are likely to elect their Legislature Party Leader. The meeting will be held in the presence of senior leaders and AICC observers. BRS president and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday won from the Gajwel Assembly constituency in Siddipet district in the Telangana Legislative Assembly polls. Rao defeated his nearest BJP rival Eatala Rajender by a margin of 45,031 votes. Rao, however, lost from Kamareddy, the second constituency he contested. The BRS lost the elections to the Congress, securing 39 out of the total 119 seats. The Congress bagged 64 seats.
