Congress govt in Telangana to mark first anniversary from Dec 1-9

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to make arrangements on a grand scale for the Congress government's first anniversary celebrations from December 1 to 9. During a meeting with ministers and officials on Saturday, Reddy instructed ministers to present a progress report on their respective department's work and explain the future plans by holding press conferences. The CM will inaugurate a statue of 'Telangana Thalli' (mother) at the Secretariat complex on December 9 (coinciding with the birthday of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi). About one lakh women from across the state would be invited for the event, an official release said. As part of the celebrations, a public meeting of unemployed youth would be held in Peddapalli district on December 4. Six pharma companies sign MoUs with Telangana govt for Pharma City

Six prominent pharmaceutical companies, including Dr Reddy's Laboratories, Aurobindo Pharma, and Hetero Labs, have signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the Telangana government to set up facilities in the Pharma City near here, the government announced on Friday. The companies have committed to invest over Rs 5,260 crore, which is expected to create 12,490 job opportunities in the pharma sector, according to an official release. Representatives from the companies met with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu at the Secretariat to finalise the agreements. "The pharma company managements signed MoUs to establish the industries. The six companies expressed their interest to invest more than Rs 5260 crore. The investments will provide 12,490 job opportunities in the pharma sector. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday accused the BRS of creating obstacles in the Congress government's development projects, and said BRS leader K T Rama Rao will have to go to jail for his alleged conspiracy in a recent attack on government officials. Referring to the November 11 attack on officials during a public hearing for land acquisition in his assembly constituency of Kodangal in Vikarabad district, he charged that rowdy elements were made to assault the officials. Telangana clears Rs 205 cr for Warangal Airport after GMR's approval

Telangana government has issued orders sanctioning Rs 205 crore for acquiring over 280 acres of land for the development of Mamnoor Airport at Warangal, after GMR Group which manages Hyderabad Airport issued "No Objection" certificate for operation of the aerodrome. According to the GO issued on Sunday, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in July 2022, informed the state government that it is ready to develop Warangal Airport for A-320 type of aircraft for IFR (instrument flight rules) operations and is ready to bear the infrastructure cost, operational and maintenance of the proposed airport. A master plan has been prepared for the operation of A-320 type of aircraft for which an additional land measuring 253 acres is required from the state government of Telangana, free of cost and free from all encumbrances. Train derails in Telangana's Peddapalli; 39 trains cancelled, 61 diverted

A goods train derailed in Peddapalli district of Telangana, leading to cancellation of 39 passenger trains, officials of South Central Railway (SCR) said on Wednesday. Twelve wagons of the good strain carrying steel coils and iron rods derailed between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam on Tuesday night, SCR Chief Public Relations Officer A Sridhar told PTI. No one was injured in the incident, he said. The train was proceeding from Ballari in Karnataka towards Ghaziabad. It's a triple line section and all the three lines got obstructed with damage to tracks, the official said. Refuting the allegations levelled against him by BRS working president K T Rama Rao over AMRUT scheme tenders, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday dared the former to proceed legally on the matter. Telangana to start caste survey from Nov 4-5, complete by Nov 30: Minister

The Telangana government is expected to start a caste survey in the state from November 4-5 and it is likely to be completed by November 30, minister Ponnam Prabhakar said on Saturday. Prabhakar was addressing the media after a cabinet meeting during which a proforma for the caste survey was approved. He said the exercise is being taken up in line with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's commitment to conduct a caste survey in the state as well as across the nation. Prabhakar said 80,000 government employees will be roped in for conducting the survey and they will be appropriately trained for it. According to a resolution passed by the Telangana Assembly, the state cabinet has approved the proforma for the caste survey which is expected to be completed by November 30. The actual enumeration, covering every household, is likely to start from November 4 or 5, he said. All the data collected will be kept in public domain, he said.
