Illegal arms suppliers held in Delhi; eight country-made pistols recovered

Delhi Police has arrested two members of an interstate arms supply gang who used social media platforms for their dealings, officials said on Sunday. According to police, the accused used to procure the arms from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh which they supplied in Delhi/NCR. The accused have been identified as Arvind Kumar (45) and Vinod Kumar (48) from Uttar Pradesh and eight countrymade 0.32 bore pistols recovered from them, police said. Police received a tip-off on August 19 that two arm traffickers would be reaching Agra canal road in Jaitpur to deliver a consignment of illegal fire arms, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (special cell) Amit Kaushik said. Based on the tip-off, a police team was formed which laid a trap near Canal road and the duo was apprehended. Eight pistols were recovered from them, Kaushik said. EAM Jaishankar discusses cooperation, issue of trafficking with Laos PM

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday called on Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and raised the issue of trafficking of Indian nationals through cyber scam centres in the Southeast Asian country and discussed development partnership and cooperation in areas like defence and energy. Accused of drug trafficking, US arrests leaders of Mexico's Sinaloa cartel

Ismael El Mayo Zambada, a longtime leader of Mexico's Sinaloa cartel, and Joaqun Guzman Lopez, a son of another infamous cartel leader, were arrested by U.S. authorities in Texas on Thursday, the US Justice Department said. A leader of the powerful Sinaloa cartel for decades alongside Joaqun El Chapo Guzmn, Zambada is one of the most powerful drug traffickers in the world and known for running the cartel's smuggling operations while keeping a lower profile. NIA charges 8 involved in 'trafficking' Rohingyas, Bangladeshis into India

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday charge-sheeted eight people suspected to be a part of a transnational syndicate trafficking Rohingyas and Bangladeshis into India using forged documents. The agency has named Jalil Miah, Hanan Miah, absconder Kajal Sarkar, Adhir Das and Anwar Hussain alias Mama -- all of whom were operating from the northeastern state of Tripura -- in its supplementary charge sheet filed before a special court in Guwahati, an official statement said. "Others charge-sheeted have been identified as absconder Kamal Das, brother of charge-sheeted accused Amol Chandra Das, who was operating from Silchar, besides West Bengal-based Liton Chakraborty," it said, adding that the eighth charge-sheeted accused is Bangladeshi national Rabiyl Hasan alias Rabiul Hassan. CBI arrests 4 for trafficking Indians to Russia-Ukraine conflict zone

The CBI has arrested four people including a contractual translator in the Russian Defence Ministry for their alleged involvement in the human trafficking network that pushed Indians into the Russia-Ukraine war zone, officials said Tuesday. The agency arrested two recruiters, Arun and Yesudas Junior alias Priyan, from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala on Tuesday, while two other accused, Nijil Jobi Bensam, a contractual employee in Russian Defence Ministry, and Anthony Michael Elangovan, a resident of Mumbai, were arrested on April 24. Bensam and Elangovan are in judicial custody, the CBI said in a late night statement. CBI busts network trafficking Indians to Russia-Ukraine conflict zone

The Central Bureau of Investigation has busted a major human trafficking network that took Indians to the Russia-Ukraine war zone in the garb of providing jobs abroad, officials said on Thursday.
