Budget 'representatives'

The Bharatiya Janta Party-led government at the Centre is pulling out all the stops to popularise its 2016-17 Budget, which it has termed "Vikas ka Budget". Almost all government websites and portals are carrying a link to the major announcements made in the Budget. In fact, the government has chosen people from various sections of society to explain the Budget proposals. However, it seems the choices were made keeping caste and religious equations in mind. So among those selected for the exercise are52-year-old farmer Khem Lal Khuswaha,32-year-old entrepreneur Atwan Ansari,23-year-old student Sushmita Saikia,62-year-old housewife Deepa Nadar and18-year-old labourer Mohan Patel.
