Pure politics behind removal of security cover, says Arvind Kejriwal

A day after Punjab Police personnel deployed in the security of AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal were withdrawn, the former Delhi chief minister on Friday dubbed it as "pure politics". "I regret that personal security has been politicised," he said addressing a press conference here. His remarks also came after the AAP chief alleged that the police allowed a rival candidate's men to attack his car on Thursday on the orders of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Delhi Police dismissed the claim. At the press conference on Friday, Kejriwal also took a dig at the BJP and Shah over the law and order situation in Delhi due to the activities of gangsters. President Donald Trump has revoked government security protection for former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his top aide Brian Hook, who have faced threats from Iran ever since they took hardline stances on the Islamic Republic during Trump's first administration. A congressional staffer and a person familiar with the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss personal security details, confirmed the change, but neither could offer an explanation. Govt strengthens security of RSS chief on inputs by intelligence agencies

The government has strengthened the security of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in view of latest threat inputs analysed by federal intelligence agencies, official sources said Wednesday. The 73-year-old Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief is secured by an armed VIP protection unit of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) under the top Z-plus category. Official sources said as part of this Z-plus protocol, Bhagwat was provided a security cover all across the country. Recently, central intelligence agencies found that a procedure called Advance Security Liaison (ASL) for the RSS Sarsanghchalak was not being done uniformly and hence it was decided to notify it as a regular and mandatory exercise for Bhagwat, the sources said. Amid VIP movement at Rajghat, heavy traffic chokes routes to central Delhi

Commuters travelling towards central Delhi from the eastern parts of the national capital and Noida faced heavy traffic due to VIP movement towards and away from Rajghat on Monday. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered floral tributes to the Father of the Nation at his memorial in Rajghat. According to police, those commuting via ITO, Pragati Maidan and Barapulla will face heavy traffic as these routes are completely choked.
