Realty firm Macrotech Developers Ltd has acquired a 100 per cent stake in Opexefi Services and One Box Warehouse for nearly Rs 100 crore as part of its strategy to grow the development business of industrial & warehousing parks. Macrotech Developers Ltd, which sells properties under the Lodha brand, has executed Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs) for the acquisition of a 100 per cent stake in Opexefi Services Pvt Ltd (Opexefi) and One Box Warehouse Pvt Ltd (One Box), according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday. Opexefi and One Box will become wholly owned subsidiaries of the company, it added. "This is in pursuance of our planned strategy for calibrated growth in Digital Infrastructure viz. California has fined Amazon a total of USD 5.9 million, alleging the e-commerce giant worked warehouse employees so hard that it put their safety at risk, officials said. The two citations issued in May by the California Labor Commissioner's Office said Amazon.com Services LLC ran afoul of the state's Warehouse Quota Law at facilities in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, east of Los Angeles. The law, which took effect in 2022, "requires warehouse employers to provide employees written notice of any quotas they must follow, including the number of tasks they need to perform per hour and any discipline that could come" from not meeting the requirements, the labour commissioner's office said in a statement. Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) on Tuesday announced the construction of its warehousing facility in Phaltan, near Pune with an investment of Rs 170 crore. Spread over 6.5 lakh square feet (sq ft), the new facility will be developed in two phases. The first phase, comprising 3.5 lakh sq ft, is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2024, the company said in a statement.
