UP will export 40 tonnes of mangoes to Japan, Malaysia in 2024: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said the state will export 40 tonnes of mangoes to Japan and Malaysia this year. It is for the first time in the history of 160 years that Lucknow's Dussehri mango is being exported to the USA, he added. Addressing the inaugural function of the three-day Mango Festival, which began here at the Awadh Shilp Gram, Adityanath said the price of Dussehri mango in India is between Rs 60 and Rs 100 per kg, but its price touches Rs 900 per kg in the US market. "That is, if we add the price of duty tax, cargo and air freight, then the cost of sending one kg of mango to America will be up to Rs 250-300, even then a farmer and horticulturist will save Rs 600 on one kg of mango," he said. The UP chief minister said the gardeners of Uttar Pradesh produce 58 lakh metric tonnes of mango in only 3.15 lakh hectares. UP govt to monitor Kanwar Yatra with helicopter, to shower flowers

The state government will monitor the upcoming Kanwar Yatra with a helicopter and also shower flowers on kanwariyas, an official statement issued here said on Saturday. According to the statement, Chief Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh government Manoj Kumar Singh and Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar convened a review meeting ahead of the yatra with officials of different states in Meerut Divisional Commissioner Auditorium. The meeting was attended by senior police and administrative officials of Meerut, Saharanpur, Aligarh and Moradabad divisions along with officials from Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. During the month on Sawan, which begins from July 22, people from Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan walk to Rishikesh and Haridwar in Uttarakhand to collect water from the Ganga river and bring it back to be offered in Shiva temples. Cops enter Hathras preacher's ashram to check security, say he is not there

Police entered the ashram premises of religious preacher Jagat Guru Saakar Vishwahari Bhole Baba here and later said he was not present there. A police official said they had gone there to check security arrangements. Police personnel have been deployed outside the ashram since the stampede at the preacher's congregation in Harthras claimed 121 lives. In reply to a question by reporters, Circle Officer Sunil Kumar Singh said police and special operation group (SOG) personnel entered the ashram premises on Wednesday night. "There were 50-60 sevadars (volunteers), including women, inside the ashram," he said. Asked whether 'Satsang' preacher Bhole Baba is inside the ashram or not, the police officer said, "He (Baba) was neither there yesterday nor today." UP stampede: CM Adityanath to visit Hathras today, to assess situation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to visit Hathras on Wednesday where a stampede at a religious congregation killed 116 people, a senior government official said. The official said the chief minister is taking stock of the situation round the clock. Meanwhile, UP Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and DGP Prashant Kumar have reached the spot. A team consisting of ADG Agra and Aligarh Divisional Commissioner has been constituted to inquire into the cause of the incident. The report is to be submitted within 24 hours, the government said in a statement. Adityanath is holding a meeting with senior officials at his residence here, it said. Union minister and Apna Dal (Sonelal) president Anupriya Patel has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the rejection of OBC and SC/ST candidates for state government posts by declaring them not found suitable. UP govt suspends 6 officials after road cave-ins on Ram Path in Ayodhya

The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended six officials of civic agencies for gross negligence following road cave-ins and waterlogging at several sections of the newly-built Ram Path in Ayodhya. About 15 bylanes and streets along the Ram Path were flooded after rain on June 23 and June 25. Even homes along the road went under water. Portions of the 14-kilometre road stretch also caved in at more than a dozen places. The suspended officials are Dhruv Aggarwal (executive engineer), Anuj Deshwal (assistant engineer) and Prabhat Pandey (junior engineer) of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Anand Kumar Dubey (executive engineer), Rajendra Kumar Yadav (assistant engineer) and Mohammad Shahid (junior engineer) of the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam.
