LIC Mutual Fund might consider an IPO once its asset under management (AUM) reaches the Rs 1 lakh crore mark, which it was targeting by FY'26, a top official said on Friday.
At present, LIC MF's AUM was around Rs 38,000 crore, a significant jump from Rs 16,526 crore in FY'23.
"We have grown by 67 per cent in FY'24 and our current growth run rate is 30 per cent," LIC MF Asset Management Ltd MD and CEO RK Jha told PTI.
He said the current equity contribution across all funds is 47 per cent, with debt accounting for the remaining 53.
Institutional and corporate investors have put their money mostly in debt funds, while retail participation is skewed towards equity, he added.
"We want retail or equity weightage to grow to 65-70 per cent when we hit Rs 1 lakh crore," he said, acknowledging the ambitious nature of the target with 15 months remaining.

The Delhi High Court has sought the response of various media houses on a Rs 100 crore defamation suit by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy over alleged derogatory news reports linking him to the indictment proceedings against Adani Group in the US.
Justice Subramonium Prasad issued summons to the media houses and their editors and search engine Google while asking them to file written statements in response to the suit.
"Let the plaint be registered as a suit. Issue summons," the court said in its December 9 order.
The judge also issued notice on Reddy's application seeking an interim relief and made it clear that any publication made after December 9 would be after being put to notice by court and have its own consequences.
The court posted the matter on December 16.
Reddy sought the court's direction to the media houses to take down the publications mentioned by him in the suit.

UK&amp;#39;s political crisis

In September, 22-year-old Iranian girl Mahsa Amini died after being detained for allegedly violating Iran&amp;#39;s laws requiring women to wear a headscarf. Authorities said she died of illness, but her family claimed she fell into a coma after being mistreated by the police. Sources said the police beat Amini with a baton and banged her head against a vehicle. At her funeral on September 17 in Saqez, women protested by ripping off their hijabs. Protests sparked by her demise have since roped in ethnic minorities and even school children. Thousands of women since then have been showing solidarity by cutting their hair and burning their hijabs in public.
						
						Now, the unrest has spread beyond a women&amp;#39;s right to a movement that is calling for an end to theocratic rule. The protests are now the most broadly supported movement in Iran in over four decades.
