Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey 2025 in Parliament today. The survey projects India’s GDP growth for FY26 at 6.3-6.8%, amid global uncertainty. Inflation is expected to remain in check, with rural demand is likely to pick up.
A controversy erupted after Congress leader Sonia Gandhi called President Droupadi Murmu a "poor thing" following the President’s address to Parliament. The Rashtrapati Bhavan said the comments were in "poor taste" and "hurt the dignity of the high office".
