Imphal (Manipur), Dec 23 (ANI): Known to be a deadly virus, Parvovirus, also known as Canine Parvovirus infection or simply CPV, has been taking toll on dogs every year in Manipur. The sudden outbreak of the virus has created panic among dog owners in the state. Dog owners are seen visiting at the State Veterinary Hospital for treatment, so that they could save their best friends from the epidemic. Around 80 to 100 dogs are being admitted to the State Veterinary Hospital in Imphal daily since from the past one month. Doctors at the State Veterinary Hospital, Imphal have confirmed the outbreak and stated the outbreak has been a regular phenomenon every year during the winter season. The Parvovirus attacks only to puppies which are below one year old, and is highly contagious. But it can easily spread to other pets in the house if the intervention is not timely. Fundraising through qualified institutional placements (QIPs) reached an all-time high in 2024, surpassing the Rs 1 lakh crore-mark for the first time ever in a calendar year, fuelled by strong stock market conditions and higher valuations.
Indian companies have raised Rs 1,21,321 crore through QIPs till November, according to data compiled by Prime Database.
This represents a more than two-fold increase compared to the Rs 52,350 crore mobilised in the previous calendar year.
The sharp increase showed market resilience has been a key factor driving this growth as companies will continue to garner capital through Qualified Institutional Placements (QIPs), analysts said.
According to the data, 82 companies have tapped capital markets with QIP issues till November this year, compared with just 35 that raised Rs 38,220 crore during the same period last year.
QIP is one of the quickest products to raise funds from institutional investors. It is designed for listed firms and investment 

Other significant QIP transactions during CY24 include Samvardhana Motherson International at Rs 6,438 crore and Godrej Properties at Rs 6,000 crore and KEI Industries at Rs 2,000 crore

Northern Coalfields Ltd on Sunday said it has spent over Rs 1,000 crore in the last 10 years under various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The CSR target of Singrauli-based Northern Coalfields Ltd (NCL) is Rs 172.97 crore for the ongoing financial year.
"NCL touched the lives of around 10 lakh people and spent more than Rs 1,000 crore on various CSR initiatives in the previous 10 years," it said in a statement.
The company's CSR expenditure in the previous fiscal year was Rs 157 crore.
Under the guidance of the coal ministry, NCL rolled out 'CHARAK- Community Health: A Responsive Action for Koylanchal', a health-centric CSR initiative on Sunday, as per the statement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate a project worth about Rs 40,000 crore to link 11 rivers in Rajasthan that is projected to make it a water-surplus state, Union Jalshakti Minister C R Patil said on Sunday.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of semiconductor plant of Suchi Semicon, Patil appealed to corporates to work on water harvesting to address the issue of water crisis in the future.

The Union government on Sunday launched the 'Jalvahak' scheme to incentivise cargo movement via inland waterways, marking a major step towards promoting sustainable and cost-effective transportation across National Waterways 1 (Ganga), 2 (Brahmaputra), and 16 (Barak river).
