When 15-year-old Pranav Dhanawade, son of an autorickshaw driver from Mumbai, took guard on Tuesday, little did he fancy his chances of registering a name in the history books of cricket. Not only did he give the opposition bowlers a hammering of a lifetime, but his innings also shattered a 117- year-old world record, created by 13-year-old A E J Collins in 1899. Those who witnessed him achieving this mammoth feat of completing 1,000 runs in an inninings were left completely awestruck and as far as fans go, one can only stand and applaud such a prodigy, hoping to see him don the national colours soon.
