What went down at the 66th Primetime Emmys

After Breaking Bad, Modern Family and Sherlock were the second biggest winners of the night

BS Reporter
It was Walter White’s night at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards today. Breaking Bad , which wrapped up its highly-acclaimed run last year, ended up being the biggest winner of the night with a total of six Emmys, including Best Drama Series as well as best actors in their respective categories for Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, and Aaron Paul.

Seth Meyers took the stage to host the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.

“This year we’re doing the Emmys on a Monday night in August—which, if I understand television, means the Emmys are about to get cancelled,” he started off, taking a dig at the awards show.

Celebrities took to the popular micro-blogging website Twitter to post their own comments.

Modern Family and Sherlock were the second biggest winners of the night. While the former made history by winning the Best Comedy Series for the fifth year in a row, including Best Supporting Actor for Ty Burrell, the latter won acting honors for Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and won Best Writing in a Miniseries/Movie for Steven Moffat in Sherlock: His Last Vow .

Billy Crystal’s tribute to Robin William's touched an emotional chord at the Emmys.

"He made us laugh hard, I spent many happy hours with him onstage, I used to think if I could keep a saddle on him and stay on for eight seconds I would be doing OK," he said.

"Robin Williams kept us laughing for 40 years and it's hard to believe he's no longer here to put that smile on our faces."
