Warning that the city administration would come to a standstill if Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal doesn't sacrifice his 'arrogance', Congress leader Ajay Maken on Wednesday urged the former to give up his 'dharna mindset'.

"Delhi is a Union Territory and the Chief Minister should know that he doesn't have all the powers. Arvind Kejriwal should change his mindset, he should give up the 'dharna' mindset now that he is a Chief Minister," Maken told ANI.

"The administration in Delhi will come to a standstill if Arvind Kejriwal doesn't quit his arrogance, the Centre should act maturely too," he added.

Kejriwal, who is currently involved in a turf war with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, earlier wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi, urging him to allow the Delhi government to work independently under the Constitution.

He also met senior bureaucrats at the Delhi Secretariat today with his deputy Manish Sisodia.

The row between Jung and Kejriwal began after the former appointed Gamlin as the acting chief secretary despite strong opposition from Kejriwal.

The Kejriwal Government had levelled serious allegations against Gamlin accusing her of being extremely close to power distribution companies in Delhi.

Kejriwal also sent her a letter asking her not to take up the post as, according to him, her appointment was against rules.

Both Jung and Kejriwal took the matter to President Pranab Mukherjee yesterday.
